Community Update | Retail Store Area

Following concerns raised by members of the public, neighbourhood policing officers have been conducting high-visibility patrols around the retail store area to address reports of crime and anti-social behaviour and to provide reassurance to businesses, staff and customers.

During these patrols, officers arrested a male on suspicion of theft. The arrest was made as part of our ongoing efforts to tackle offending and ensure the area remains a safe and welcoming place for everyone who works, shops and visits there.

We understand the impact that theft and associated behaviour can have on local businesses and the wider community. Reports from the public play a vital role in helping us identify offenders, build intelligence and direct patrols to the areas where they are needed most.

Officers will continue to carry out proactive patrols in and around the retail area, engaging with businesses and responding to concerns raised by the community. While we cannot be there at all times, your information helps us build a clearer picture of any ongoing issues and enables us to take positive action where appropriate.
